I Am Out Of Work. Can I Get Some Money Up Front?

Generally, no. You will have to go through treatment and wait for the legal case to come to a conclusion. However, if you were injured on the job, your workers’ compensation benefits may include compensation for your lost wages in addition to your treatment.

What About My Medical Bills?

Whether you have to pay up front for medical bills will depend on your health insurance. If you have it, don’t be afraid to use it. We may be able to secure compensation for your medical bills as part of your eventual settlement, but if you have health insurance coverage that applies to your injuries, it can be very beneficial to use it. If you don’t have insurance at all and can’t qualify for Medicaid, some medical providers may be willing to treat you on a lien basis.

What About My Vehicle? I Owe A Lot Of Money On It

If your vehicle is totaled in the accident, we can help you get the fair market value of the vehicle included in the settlement. The determining factor in valuing your vehicle is not how much you owe, but what the vehicle is worth according to a reliable fair market valuation.

Am I Entitled To A Rental Car?

You may be able to get a rental car while repairs are done to your current vehicle or while your insurance company takes time to determine if your car is a total loss. But there is no strict entitlement to a rental car.

Will I Get Paid For Lost Wages?

If you can prove that you lost wages as a result of your injury, you will get paid for them in the settlement. This is one of the issues that we deal with on a regular basis through our representation of injured individuals.

How Much Will My Personal Injury Case Settle For?

This is a question we get asked all the time, but it is truly an impossible question to answer at the beginning of a case. Each case is dependent on a number of factors, including the extent of your injuries and the treatment you receive, time of recovery, permanency of the injuries, scarring or other permanent disfigurement, impairment rating, amount of your medical bills, the amount of your lost wages, and whether, due to the nature of the case, you are entitled to punitive damages (e.g., the driver was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), among other factors. However, what we can tell you from the outset is that we believe in giving you our very best efforts regardless of the size of your claim, and we will handle your claim with competence and compassion. We handle injury cases on a contingent fee basis, which means that our fee is contingent, or dependent, on the outcome, so the better that we do our job for you, the better it is for us as well. We’re on the same team as our clients, fighting the same fight.
